The power of listening

We provide counselling to the students of economically weaker section in
schools and colleges (teens and young adults) and help them cope with emotional issues such as stress, anxiety, fear, etc. If required, we counsel the student’s parents, understand their perspective, and help them provide the extra support their children need. After the counseling sessions, we hope to bring about a change to help the student perform better, have better relationships with peers and family, and be more equipped to handle adverse situations. Group counselling sessions are also held whenever needed.
The sessions could be face to face, through phone or video calls.

Mental Health Counselling

As many students from the underprivileged background do not understand what counselling is, we first start with giving them awareness sessions on counselling. This awareness session provides them with an understanding of counselling and how it can benefit them. We provide awareness sessions to parents and teachers also. We then provide one on one counselling sessions to children in their teens.

Life Skills Training

We take sessions on life skills such as anger management,
handling anxiety and exam stress, bullying etc. These will help the students cope better with their emotions and circumstances.

Career Counselling

Career counselling plays an important role, more so when a student passes out of class 10 and later class 12.
We provide group & one on one sessions to high school students in terms of educational choices and ease the decision-making at the crucial junction between school and higher education.
Some students from lower socio-economic backgrounds tend to drop out of school or college and start working at young age or girls tend to get married at younger ages. Without the necessary degree and other qualifications, they cannot secure a well-paying job leading to the continuity of the vicious circle of poverty.
One of the main objectives of this initiative is also to encourage these students to continue their college education and reduce the dropout rates.

Social and Emotional Development Workshops

Children in the underprivileged section of society suffer from many social and emotional stresses that impact their overall physical and emotional well-being. They try to cope through means such as anger, substance abuse, device addiction, bullying, etc. There is a need to provide them with coping skills. Our Social and emotional development workshops address that. Through this experiential workshop, they understand and learn to regulate their emotions and manage stress.
